How to Save Money on Your Wedding

January 21, 2016

Weddings can be expensive, but there are ways to have a beautiful wedding without breaking the bank. Here are some ways that you can save on your ideal wedding.

One of the best ways to lower the cost of a wedding is invite fewer guests. The reason is that one of the biggest expenses is the alcohol and food so the fewer guests you invite the less you will spend on those two items.

If you are going to have your wedding in a hotel, you can save money by putting services together such as guest accommodations, food, alcohol, and the event space and getting a lower price for doing so.

Look for venues that specialize in weddings because many of these venues will offer package deals.

Make sure that when you go to make arrangements for anything, ask to talk to the one in charge and can make deals. Some vendors will give you a deal or maybe throw in something extra if they can get your business so make sure that you ask for a better deal or price.

Make the wedding and reception a family affair and ask them to contribute to your wedding instead of giving you a wedding gift. For example, make your invitations, design your bouquet, bake your wedding cake, and more.

If possible, have your wedding ceremony and reception in the same place so you will only have to pay for one site and there will not be transportation fees to take you and the wedding party to another location for the reception.

Saturday is the most common and expensive day to hold a wedding so opt for a Friday or Sunday wedding to save money.

The peak wedding season is May through September so if you can plan your wedding for any other month it will not be as expensive.

Before you book your reception venue check to see if you can bring in your own alcohol in order to save money because many restaurants, hotels, and banquet halls markup their liquor.

Have the fathers and groomsmen rent their tuxedos from the same store because many stores will throw in the groom’s formal wear free.

There are just some of the many ways that you can save money on your wedding and still have a beautiful wedding with lots of memories. Do hire a professional photographer for those special pictures, but also use disposable cameras for those candid shots.

dev This is my favorite nail salon. Organic products and each tool set is fresh out of the wrapper so tools don't get used on multiple people. Super clean and the staff is very friendly. on December 15, 2015
